Love

Is there a difference between the love God calls us to give to one another and the love we actual show to people, a conditional and guarded type of love? What I mean is we often show a general for one another,  a friend, family member and or enemy, wishing that God would find favor with them and love them and that they would in return respond to God. After all salvation in God is the ultimate destination in this life and what we are called to lead others to. I believe there is another type of love. The kind God describes in Luke 6.  It is Sacrificial and unconditional with no regard for our selfish desires and or needs. Take a risk! Call someone beautiful, tell someone they are special, or give someone a hug. We love out of fear more then out of the pure desire to love another person. The golden rule is to love others as we want to be loved. That can be simple as in don’t steal or hurt them, don’t punch them, or lie to them. Or it can be the most powerful statement ever written. Love with all your heart mind and soul. Love how Jesus loves us. Love the undeserving, the broken and the hurting. Never speak ill of anyone to them or behind their backs even the ones who crush your heart and your spirit. Don’t let the cynical and hard of heart tell you how to love. Don't let the broken world be the example of love you follow. Love with all you are! It will hurt, it will be sad and it can break you. But if we choose to love this way we are what the world is dying to see and feel, the people loving like Jesus did. After all love is the only pure truth we can show to others.
